Assault charges against Mthokozisi withdrawn

Following his arrest last Thursday and his appearance in the Hillbrow Magistrates court on Monday, 04 December 2017, the assault charges levelled against Ndaba were provisionally withdrawn earlier today.  twitter.com UPDATE:  According to reports and statements from NPA spokesperson Phindile Louw, there were outstanding statements that the police needed to obtain and that is what was delaying the NPA's decision on whether or not to continue with the case against Ndaba. Once they have said statements in their position, they can decided whether the case is worth pursuing or not.

Mthokozisi Ndaba was arrested for allegedly assaulting Neo Tsele, 21, in Braamfontein. DURBAN - LOSING Idols finalist Mthokozisi Ndaba was arrested earlier this week and swiftly released on a warning, the Sunday Tribune can reveal. Last Saturday, Ndaba, who lost the Idols title in the final to Paxton Fielies of Cape Town, was arrested on Thursday night before being released in the early hours of Friday. Sergeant Mduduzi Zondo, a spokesperson for the police at the Hillbrow Police Station, said the Durbanite would appear in court on Monday on the assault charges leveled at him for the alleged assault of 21-year-old Neo Tsele, who was beaten allegedly with fists and slammed onto a wall at a Braamfontein apartment. Controversial 'Idols SA' Season 13 runner-up Mthokozisi Ndaba has shared another statement, but this time it came from a fan. Ndaba, has made headline after headline since the musical competition's finale show on 19 November. First, he failed to attend the press conference after Cape Town's Paxton Fielies won the title. It later emerged that  Ndaba was receiving counselling to help him cope with the loss . Pictures of the alleged victim's bruised face and broken tooth went viral on social media as her friends posted that Ndaba was a “wanted man”. On Sunday, however, things really went south for the would-be star after news broke that he  allegedly assaulted a woman  in a Johannesburg flat over the weekend. Ndaba released a statement  on Tuesday explaining that he has returned to Johannesburg and is cooperating with police. He also asked his fans to "not attack the complainant on social media" and for everyone to "continue taking a stand...
