David Mabuza's take on load-shedding leaves Mzansi in shock

Deputy president David Mabuza's take on the electricity crisis left many on Twitter in disbelief.

 "The shortage of electricity is a sign of growth."

 Mabuza made this remark in parliament on Wednesday while responding to questions on youth unemployment and the fourth industrial revolution.

 "Yesterday‚ electricity was only given to a few people. Today‚ electricity is given to millions of people ... this economy is growing and therefore we are bound to have challenges. These challenges are very positive because they propel our growth‚" he said.

 Mabuza’s comments coincided with Eskom’s announcement on Wednesday that there was a possibility of load-shedding on Thursday.

SABC slapped with R20k fine after broadcasting #fillupthedome

The Broadcasting Complaints Commisson of South Africa (BCCSA)  has published a judgement that shows SABC1 has been slapped with a R20 000 fine, this after complaints were made of profane language used during the broadcast of Cassper Nyovest’s Fill Up The Dome concert in November. On Friday, the BCCSA stated on its website that the “Material [was] broadcast before the watershed period, [and] considered harmful to children”. “The Tribunal is thus compelled to state that the respondent failed to exercise the necessary precaution prior to the broadcast of #FillUpTheDome concert and thus contravened the provisions of the broadcasting code of conduct.” The watershed period is the period in which it is appropriate to broadcast programming aimed towards mature or adult audiences.
