Lukau: we prayed in thanks for his life

Image
Pastor Alph Lukau has been criticized for performing a 'resurrection' JOHANNESBURG - The Johannesburg pastor at the centre of the controversial 'resurrection' video said he knew that the man in the coffin was alive, but he continued to pray for him in thanks to God.  The video, which went viral on social media, shows Pastor Alph Lukau praying over a man's body in a coffin.  "You can see he is breathing ...He died since Friday. He was in a mortuary ... Rise up!", Lukau commanded in the video.  The man was then seen sitting up in the coffin, as if he had been raised from the dead.  In an interview on PowerFM Lukau said he knew the man was breathing but prayed over the coffin, rejoicing that the man was alive once again.  "The mere fact that this person was alive nor not alive does not stop the prayer to go on ... I can safely say that I did not pray to resurrect the person. I do not want to take that credit." Luka

#CryOurBelovedMzansi trends as Mzansi's concern over crime deepens

Image
Thoriso Themane.  South Africans have flooded social media platforms with their experiences with crime following the death of Limpopo’s Thoriso Themane on Sunday. Themane died after allegedly being beaten by a group of school boys in a park near his home on Saturday. #Cryourbelovedmzansi dominated the trends list, as people urged authorities to do more to ensure a safer environment. Some also commented on the role of parents in ensuring their children grew up to be  responsible. The government and justice authorities were urged to be firm with those who thought they could get away with committing crimes. Does mzansi even have a cornerstone to democracy? What has happened to the protection, and fulfilling the rights of humanity? #CryOurBelovedMzansi pic.twitter.com/OUTh71Zrj7 — Kgopa Wa LePirates (@TT_Kgopa) February 27, 2019 #CryOurBelovedMzansi Every School should have atleast two Police officer's daily Siyafa Schools are no longer safe.Kids and teache

David Mabuza's take on load-shedding leaves Mzansi in shock

Image
Deputy President David Mabuza. Deputy president David Mabuza's take on the electricity crisis left many on Twitter in disbelief. "The shortage of electricity is a sign of growth." Mabuza made this remark in parliament on Wednesday while responding to questions on youth unemployment and the fourth industrial revolution. "Yesterday‚ electricity was only given to a few people. Today‚ electricity is given to millions of people ... this economy is growing and therefore we are bound to have challenges. These challenges are very positive because they propel our growth‚" he said. Mabuza’s comments coincided with Eskom’s announcement on Wednesday that there was a possibility of load-shedding on Thursday.
