Sindi Nene makes her big return

Image
Remember the 2010 Top 3 Idols contestant Sindi Nene who we kind of thought would make it to the finale but didn’t? The one who unapologetically loved her blond wigs? Sindi rose to instant fame after joining Idols SA and instantly becoming the judges and viewers favorite. After being eliminated after making it as far as the top 3 round, Sindi landed a deal with Universal Music Records soon after. She also signed under the Universal Music Publishing Group where her debut album was released. Instagram/@SindiNene After disappearing from the music industry for four years after the release of her debut album INFINITE , Sindi is back and is ready to reclaim back all her fans and remind them why they loved her so much before. In July 2017, Sindi started working under the watchful eye of Arthur Mafokate where she recorded her second album titled Sindi. Instagram/@SindiNene Sindi’s latest project is a

Things we didn’t know about Skeem Saam's Eric Macheru

Image
Eric Macheru might be thriving on his role as Leeto Maputla on Skeem Saam as that set his booming career in the industry, however, the actor has never really imagined himself as an actor. Speaking to Daily Sun it turns out acting was not his first love, the actor expressed that he initially wanted to become a soccer player. “I wanted to play soccer, that’s what I wanted to do but then with playing soccer I was like, I need to study something.” Like most people who have wanted to pursue sports but took the other route Eric then decided to study while playing soccer and says when he was in high school all he knew at the time was that he wanted to pursue anything in media. Eric played for Ajax Cape Town after winning the Soccer Kings competition in 2005 the actor played for Ajax Cape Town, however that dream was short lived after he got an injury and had to step back from the dream. However according to reports found on Tshisa LIVE the act

Social media taken aback by Shekhinaha's diss track to Major League

Image
With a successful debut album coupled with some pretty cool collaborations, it's become quite clear that Shekhinah is one of South Africa's youngest and most celebrated vocalists. We've heard many other artists sing her praises and from what we've come to know is that everyone is cool with the singer. However, a verse from a song titled Thirsty in her debut album has got some of her fans and people in general confused after she fired shots at Major League DJ's for supposedly not paying her for a gig. Read: Banele Mbere is boyfriend goals In the track,  Shekhinah "I don't play in the Major League I know that the brothers try to run away from paying me and once again a man takes the lead. I guess I'll just take a back seat and sip on my tea..." That particular part of the song was shared by a Twitter user by the name of @Navigator_SA Hear more of that verse below. Shekinah dropped an R&B diss track

Celebrities with the same surname who aren't related

Image
The stars of Mzansi Magic’s latest hit drama, Isithembiso, have caused quite the stir due to the fact that they share the same surname, with many arguing that in Zulu culture, having the same surname means you’re related somehow. But there are a number of ZAlebs who share the same surname but aren’t from the same family. Maybe somewhere, somehow, back in the day, their ancestors were related, but as it stands, these ZAlebs merely share a surname but aren’t related. Some artists performed for free at #FillUpFNB

Image
In the lead up to what has become an annual event for Cassper Nyovest, his claims that pursuing the dream to fill up FNB Stadium had made him broke fuelled speculation about just how much it cost him to put the show together. Speaking to DJ Sbu during his breakfast show on Massiv Metro ahead of the show, Nyovest broke down just a few of the costs he had incurred in planning #FillUpFNB. Among those costs were the fee he had to put down to book the stadium for his preferred date, additional costs including insurance and venue security as well as a budget to book supporting acts and all that was before he even put together a marketing budget for the show. “This is what it kinda takes… You go to the stadium and you fight for a date, before anything. You fight for a date with Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and then they say, ‘okay, here’s a date, we’re gonna need R900,000’ and you’re like ‘okay… there’s the R900,000 then after that there’s contracts of ‘okay, now if you damage

Would you let people kiss your baby on the lips?

Image
PHOTO: Julius Malema Instagram On Tuesday EFF leader Julius Malema posted a beautiful family picture on Instagram. His wife and eldest son stand on either side of him as he holds his youngest son in his arms and smiles for the pic. His caption, however, had a very different message to convey to his 161 000 followers. “Let’s avoid kissing other people’s kids on the lips please,” it said. This added fuel to the widespread debate as to whether parents should actually allow other people to kiss their babies on the lips. <a href="http://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad/jump?iu=/8900/24.com/Web/Parent24&sz=300x250&c=280819831&t=artid%3d9970c88e-d4e4-40fe-9752-016481d73f08%26Topics%3dbabies+and+toddlers%26accreditation%3ddrum%26posno%3d1" target="_blank"><img src="http://pubads.g.doubleclick.net/gampad/ad?iu=/8900/24.com/Web/Parent24&sz=300x250&c=280819831&a

Selena Gomez makes Instagram account private, fans freak out

Image
Selena Gomez. Picture: Twitter Selena Gomez has made her Instagram account private. The 25-year-old singer has shocked fans this week as she’s made the move to close her profile on the photo sharing app to everyone who isn’t already following her account. Selena - who is believed to have rekindled her relationship with her on/off boyfriend Justin Bieber - gave her followers no reason for her decision to stop new fans from following her account, but the move is undoubtedly strange as the ‘Fetish’ singer is currently the most followed person on the image sharing site. Those who are not yet following the star will have to request permission to follow her account, which Selena herself will have to approve before they are able to see her posts. The move comes just one week after the ‘Bad Liar’ hitmaker was named as the most followed person on Instagram for the second year running, with more than 130 million accounts showing an interest in what the blonde beauty has to say.

Julius Malema shares first picture of baby son

Image
Instagram @julius.malema.sello EFF Leader, Julius Malema became a father for the second time in October 2016, but we all had to wait for over a year to see a picture of his son The Commander in Chief welcomed his second son last year; his first child with wife, Mantwa Matlala. However, neither parent was in any hurry to show off a picture of their son and they have gone on to raise him in almost complete privacy. Considering that we are living in an era where the likes of Kenny Kunene sold pictures of his youngest son to the highest bidder, it’s extremely commendable that Julius and Mantwa value their privacy so seriously. They waited patiently, only introducing their son to friends and family, before Julius decided that the time to share his photo with the world had finally come. Malema took to Instagram to share a picture, captioning it: “Ladies and gentlemen meet the one and only Fighter Munzhedzi Malema of the Mašupatsela a Economic Freedom Fighters.” “Future

Ayanda Ncwane: I can't get used to your absence

Image
PHOTO: Ayanda Ncwane He used to sing songs that speak to your heart and had you connecting more to the Lord. Today marks the first anniversary of Sfiso Ncwane’s sudden passing at just 37 years old. The gospel great, according to Macufe, started singing at the age of 8 and broke into the music industry with his first professional album, Makadunyiswe, in 2001. But it was his 2010 hit Kulungile Baba that really put him on the map. In 2013 Kulungile Baba won a Sama for record of the year and an AGMA award (a London-based gospel music award). The award-winning singer also started the Sfiso Ncwane Bursary Foundation where he helped more than 1 000 schoolchildren in rural areas. Most of all Sfiso was a God-fearing man who believed in helping the needy. Last year on 5 December news of his death, reportedly due to kidney failure, shocked the country, and we mourned along with his family at the lost of a son, husband, friend and great gospel singer. His widow, Ayanda,

Nomsa Buthelezi's character on Lockdown is a fan favourite. Men with money can never be ugly, says Bonang

Image
Bonang Matheba. While some of her followers agree with her, some say her comment is inappropriate. South Africans on Twitter recently had a heated debate on whether money has the ability to change women’s perception of the physical appearance of a man. Bonang Matheba and Sizwe Dhlomo also shared their thoughts. The debate started off when a well known Twitter user shared his first clear image of himself on Twitter and his followers had a field day. Known for his claps backs and shade-throwing habits, Twitter did not hold back from returning the favour, with his friends calling him “ugly”. “Kodwa vele umubi mpintshi (but you really are ugly friend),” said Dhlomo. Kodwa vele umubi mpintshi. LOL! https://t.co/PaQVqC5P4K — Sizwe Dhlomo (@SizweDhlomo) November 12, 2017 But Bonang disagreed with everyone who said the poor guy was ugly, saying there was no such a thing as an ugly rich man. According to Bonang, men with money can n
